After going through the public education system for US K-12, I still do not feel the adults of today are well equipped to have safe and GOOD sex with each other or ourselves regardless of sex and gender. Having to search the internet for every separate sexual interaction is both nerve-wracking and frustrating and we all deserve better access to the vast information on sex that exists.
The Collective will be a collection of sexual information and media to destigmatize experiences, educate curious minds, and provide an easy and accessible source to access it. Although I am starting with books, I do have plans to feature the podcasts and blogs of sex educators I am also learning from. As well as trusted shops and small businesses to shop at for customer needs.
Currently, BSC is run by one woman who also works a full time job! My name is Deja and I happened to become a sex education enthusiast by choice because I find the information valuable and fun to learn about.
For those who are curious: I'm asexual, a young adult, and I do not have any formal higher education related to web design or sexual health and education. So if you have any questions regarding sexual health I highly recommend asking licensed professionals or your doctor if you have access to one!
