A Question You Want Answered?

The hardest part of learning about sex is finding the confidence to ask questions that may seem uncomfortable or shameful. So here is an anonymous question submission form, where you may ask me anything, and I will do my best to provide a succinct and well-rounded answer here or on social media.

Frequently Asked Questions

Please submit any additional questions using the google form above! FAQ's will be answered here, and other more niche questions I will answer on social media as efficiently as I can!

No! This is because The Better Sex Collective is neither a charity nor a registered 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization. It is a free-for-visitor business run purely out of the desire to provide accessible sex education. And ideally I would like to do it for as long as possible.

Oral sex can cause a UTI just like penetrative sex can because of the risk of bacteria getting into the urethra (the pee hole that sits above the entrance of the vagina). This is why it's important to pee after sex, it helps clear that bacteria out.

And yes, it is very important to always use protection even in oral sex! Dental dams, non-microwavable plastic wrap, and Lorals are good options to try.

While I highly recommend using lube for penetrative vaginal activities, it's completely up to you! Though I do at least recommend trying it once to see if it makes a difference.

  1. Swing by a local pharmacy or adult shop and pick up a trial-size hypoallergenic lube (I recommend Astroglide's water-based hypoallergenic lube).
  2. Get ready for sex/masturbation as usual and apply the lube to your vaginal entrance before any penetration.
  3. Masturbate/have sex! Depending on how long your sessions usually go, and how much lube you applied, you may start to feel slight discomfort about 15 to 20 minutes into your session.

That discomfort is the lube wearing off and you starting to feel the friction of extended penetration which will lead to microtears around your vaginal entrance. As I've said before, this is a common experience but it doesn't have to be!
